This award honours a leader who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, contribution, and advocacy in advancing excellence and driving positive change within the built environment.

Must hold a role within the construction sector

Must be formally nominated by their employer.

Judges will be looking for:

• Career achievements and professional advancement
• Demonstrated leadership within the construction industry
• Commitment to mentorship, skills transfer, and knowledge sharing
• Advocacy and contribution to driving positive change in the built environment

This award recognizes organizations (excluding technology providers) that have successfully leveraged technology to transform processes, enhance efficiency, and engage teams and/or clients. Entrants should demonstrate how the business case for the technology was developed, supported by data-driven decision-making, and provide evidence of specific innovations, measurable improvements in business and/or project performance, competitive advantage, and potential industry-wide impact or disruption. Honouring groundbreaking applications of technology that advance project delivery, efficiency, or safety, this category is open to companies operating in South Africa for services delivered between February 2024 and February 2026

Judges will be looking for:

• Scalability and industry potential

This award recognizes an organization that through their efforts has helped provide a more diverse and inclusive workplace and culture through initiatives, programmes, policies, and practices that have directly enhanced the success and culture of the organization and environment for current employees. Examples of initiative areas could include (not limited to): employing and attracting a diverse workforce, ensuring equal treatment of employees, embracing a culture of diversity and inclusion, providing employees with the support to fulfil their potential, supporting gender balance, supporting parents, leadership development in Diversity and Inclusion (regional/country approach).

Celebrates a professional (non-Director) making a significant mark in the built environment.

• Contributions to projects or organizational growth
• Effective communication and collaboration skills

This award celebrates young professionals with less than five years’ experience in the sector who are already making their mark in shaping the future of construction in South Africa. With passion, drive, and innovation, these rising talents are the leaders of tomorrow. (Individual)

Judges will be looking for:

• A candidate who is excelling early in their construction career
• Evidence of success, growth, or advancement within the last five years
• A high achiever who has contributed directly or indirectly to their organization or the construction industry
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Candidates may be entrepreneurs, corporate professionals, or government officials

The Partnership of the Year award will recognize partnerships between project owners and project teams that demonstrate a collaborative management approach. Entries should deliver unambiguous evidence of alignment of objectives, common culture, team integration, overcoming challenges together, knowledge transfer, and wow-factor successes as a team.

Judges will be looking for evidence of:

• Collaboration (25%) – Clear demonstration of a joint vision, shared objectives, and a strong culture of teamwork. Judges will assess how effectively partners integrated processes, aligned decision-making, communicated transparently, and overcame challenges together.
• Innovation (25%) – Examples of innovative approaches, tools, or technologies adopted through the partnership. This includes creative problem-solving, pioneering methodologies, or solutions that improved project delivery, efficiency, sustainability, or safety.
• Knowledge Transfer (25%) – Evidence of skills sharing, capacity building, and professional development across the partnership. Judges will look for initiatives that strengthened individual competencies, improved organizational practices, and left a legacy beyond the project.
• Positive Impact on the Wider Industry (25%) – Proof of how the partnership set new benchmarks or best practices for the construction and infrastructure sector. Judges will assess the broader influence of the collaboration, including scalability, replicability, and its contribution to shaping industry standards or inspiring future projects.

This award will be given to an organization demonstrating how it has embedded sustainability – including Environmental, Social and Governance ESG principles – into its business strategy. Examples may include success stories of employee and stakeholder engagement, competitor advantage, support of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and include evidence of quantifiable environmental impact, support for climate change mitigation, low- and zero-carbon initiatives, and positive social impact.
